NORTH KITSAP PREPARES
Refresh your readiness and join firefighters along with several other community organizations! This is the first opportunity we’ve had to repeat the success of our inaugural disaster preparedness event. More than 150 attended the first presentation in the fall of 2019 and we’re looking forward to similar enthusiasm for this event.
Tuesday, December 5 from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Village Green Community Center
Come to see an in-depth presentation about local tsunami threats as well as more detail about Kitsap County’s new all-hazards alert and warning system. Attendees will learn more about efforts on the local and state levels to improve community resilience post-disaster, presenters will offer more information about personal and household preparedness and neighbors will have an opportunity to strengthen their connections. Everyone will get a chance to win preparedness-oriented door prizes. Find more disaster preparedness resources at www.nkfr.org/kingston-prepares/
CHILD CAR SEAT CHECK
More than 60% of car seats are improperly installed or used; make sure your kids are riding as safely as possible.
NKF&R’s certified child passenger safety technician checks child car seats for free. Seat checks are held on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the district’s headquarters fire station at 26642 Miller Bay Road NE near Kingston.
SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN!
And NKF&R firefighters are proud to be escorting him to events around the district.
While scant public participation and safety concerns caused us to end our Santa visits to neighborhoods more than 15 years ago, we now partner with other groups to make sure everyone has opportunity to see him in settings that are festive, warm, dry and safe. Watch for us at a slew of community events this season.

Join our firefighters to learn the vital skills needed to be helpful in the chain of survival. See a video demonstrating the local chain of survival in a simulated event. Read a story about how the chain of survival helped ensure the recovery of a recent Kingston-area cardiac arrest patient.
Next class date/time to be announced
Firefighters and paramedics will provide attendees with instruction on performing CPR and using an AED. No course completion cards will be issued, but students will get ample opportunity to practice and ask questions.
