January 26, 2001 North Kitsap Fire & Rescue has announced the results of this week's lieutenants' test, and has selected candidates to fill newly-established officers' positions at Station 84 in Suquamish, starting March 1st. Promoted were Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Smith and Firefighter Rick LaGrandeur. Both have held paid positions with the department since 1994 and are former members of NKF&R's well-respected and successful volunteer-resident program. The two new lieutenants will join LT Scott Spain, acquired in the recent merger with Kitsap County Fire District #14, in overseeing crews at the district's southern-most satellite station. Smith's paramedic position will be filled by veteran CKF&R Firefighter/Paramedic Mark Romero. NKF&R's existing lieutenants -- Ken LeMay, Toby Schultz and Sean Moran -- were promoted to the rank of captain in January. |
