| March 23, 2002 * 02-23-01 BBQ MISHAP BURNS GAMBLEWOOD MAN
(Near KINGSTON, Kitsap County) -- A 32 year-old Gamblewood man suffered
burns this evening when the propane barbecue he was lighting flashed in his face.
North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a home on
Frodeson Circle shortly after 5:00pm. Because facial burns have the potential to
compromise a patient's ability to breathe if the patient's air passages are singed,
firefighters initially requested an Airlift Northwest helicopter. Poulsbo Fire
Department medics, responding to the call in place of the NKF&R medic unit that was
already engaged on another incident, determined that the man's injuries probably weren't
critical. He was transported by aid unit to Bremerton's Harrison Memorial
Hospital. |
